The Journey (一路有你) Review

Ever recognized that big hot air balloon whenever you're watching Astro?

Hello! And here I am for the review of this movie.

The Story

- Its about Bee (Joanne Yew) who had been staying in England since 8 years old coming back home to Malaysia along with her caucasian fiance, Benji Ben Andrew).

- Bee's father is a stubborn, traditional Chinese man who doesn't really show his love to Bee (even though he is) and wouldn't accept Benji at first but slowly throughout the movie, both of them compromised each other and lived happily.

Critics

1. Joanne Yew's language fluency

Yes, she sure is pretty with her flawless feature and figure but man, acting as a girl who is raised up in England, shouldn't she have an awesomely good command of English along with some British accent?
No offense but her English pronunciation is really bad in which I think it doesn't meet my expectations. Not only that, even her Cantonese fluency is bad as well. I would understand though if she were to act it out that way. But anyway, being a half-banana I would appreciate it if the crew had chosen someone else who have a good command of English for the movie since its kinda ridiculous for the character she's playing.

2. The chemistry between Ben and Bee's character

Sure, they are a couple in the movie but however, the movie doesn't show much of their love and chemistry. It was somehow rather dull because I really can't feel the "spark" or how deeply in love were they. It also feels like they were both "forced" to married as well due to Bee's pregnancy, well at least to me -.-

Plus Points

1. Chinese cultures as the main element

This made the movie perfect for Lunar New Year. The movie is immersed in traditional Chinese customs and values which I'm proud of. It does elaborate a lot about how the 14 days celebration of Lunar New Year will go. Besides, it also show the real Malaysian vibe, crowd and environment on how the Chinese celebrate the days of Lunar New Year. It was rather traditional as they put in those superstitious elements inside too but however, managed to breakthrough some. But one thing they really emphasized on is respect for the elderly and the importance of family bonding

2. Humour

Who wouldn't love a show which is funny? Well to me, sense of humor is really important in a movie. I wouldn't want to just sit and stare at the screen and watching a dead boring show. I am impressed with how they blend in the funny scenes inside. Whole cinema was in laughter throughout the movie and that's obviously a good thing. One of the part which I think is the funniest was the Sofaman part. I just can't stop laughing at that scene!

Overall Verdict

It was nevertheless a good show. It is this kind of movie which makes Malaysia (and me) proud of.
Malaysians didn't really have much good actor and actresses so I would think it would be real good if they improve their skills in time and then give a better performance in future.

The smile on the faces of the audiences in the cinema gives the movie a good wrap up. Which also means that the crew had did a good job on the movie :D

Rating : 4/5

Cheers and till then!

The Internship

Hi internet user

Lol it's been a long time since I blogged. Anyway, I hope you guys are doing well there :D

I'm in the middle of my sem break right now and today 14th Sept 2013 marks the 30th monthsary of me and my boy hehe

Well, we had a simple date today.

----------------

Morning, we had brunch at Wendy's, Times Square with our Living Social coupon.
Link here

We had our mango dessert at Hui Lau Shan, Pavilion. Ordered my favo mango crisps and chocolate wan.
Dear had some mango and coconut dessert which he claims to be awful and made his tummy unwell later :(
He had blacklisted that place lol but I'm sure we would go there again in future :P

Just right after dessert, we went to watch The Internship!

It was one of the many nice movies I've watched so far in 2013.
I give it a rating of 4.5/5

Well this movie actually is about 2 middle aged salesman whom had lost their job and finally decided to work in Google. However, they have to go through internship and finish a few tasks and compete with each other in groups. And by the end of the internship, only 1 group will be selected to work with Google.

Darn, ever since this movie I really wanted to go for a visit at least in Google office.
The foods are free, they have a slide to come down, sleep pods, rest pods etc.
Its just like an adult playground!

Are you tempted yet?

Heh this movie also have quite a few hotties inside.

Andddddddddd.....

TADAAAAA!!

One of them is Dylan O' Brien
Such a hottie ♥
I had to control my hormones while watching the whole movie lol.

Okay, no more spoilers as I shall let you guys watch it yourselves.
TTYL!

Life Of Pi

Ok this is a super delayed post but ahhh, who cares lah right?

After a month of showing on cinemas, finally get to watch this!
Went to Mid Valley with ma dear :D

Well it was an okay storyline with a little bit of humor.
But what to be praised and be given a thumbs up is the graphic.

DAMN NICE I TELL YOU.

No wonder it won the Oscars for the best cinematography!

Rating : 4 / 5

The graphic contributed the most for my rating. It was just too beautiful and realistic!
I wouldn't give any more spoilers for this movie so go buy a DVD and watch it yourself :P

Norwegian Wood

ELLO! Well my title sounds kinda artistic huh? Not like the normal me HAHA
Well, its actually a song by The Beatles and also a book title by Haruki Murakami

Dear bought it for me with his 1 Malaysia book voucher from Kinokuniya on last Friday's date.
So far I had read till page 100 and I could say, it was pretty alright for someone who don't read like me.

That day's date was great as always :)

We went to Yut Kee Restaurant located at Dang Wangi and just minutes of walk from the LRT station.
And what are they famous for? The legendary "Roti Babi" (pork bread)

We were there aorund 10 in the morning? and that place was already packed. There's ang moh too having their breakfast there (that's how famous Yut Kee is)
Sorry no pictures lol but I think the Roti Babi was okay only.
Its filled with pork, onions and somehow, I tasted something like sardines...idk? ._.
Roti Babi cost RM 8 each :)

So then we ordered a plate of their famous roasted pork. And its just OHMYGOD.
A plate of it consist of 2 slices of roasted pork and some (apple?) jam. It cost RM 14 but its worth it!

After we had breakfast, we used the LRT to go KLCC. I just love the Masjid Jamek LRT k? Its like underground subway :D
Head to Kinokuniya and saw Arif working at Petrosains.
Dear had a hard time choosing his book :P

Anyhowwwww after buying books and finding shoes, we went back to Leisure Mall for a movie.
Watched Ghost Rider : Spirit of Vengeance :D
At first I thought its some kind of horror, ghost story but its not. Surprisingly, I liked it :P

Went home after that. I just love spending my time with him :)
Oh and the keychain, he's super adorable when he receive it hahahha ♥
But its a fail keychain. The top part of it of my kechain tore off FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.
Shouldn't had use felt cloth -________________-

Conclusion : I had a great day! :DDDDD
K lah that's all hahahha BYEEEEEEE

2012.

Hello guys! Its a brand new year already!
Well its kinda late to wish Happy New Year but who cares.

Its kinda cool to know that I don't have to wake up early for secondary school anymore.
Enjoying the time being at home HOHO
Well I'm still in my attempt for finding part time jobs.
Hopefully I can really find one that is suitable for me *fingers crossed*

Yesterday went to Leisure Mall and watched Sherlock Holmes together with Siew Yuan.
Man, I have to admit, the movie was just AWESOME. I rate it 5/5! :D

The Leisure Mall GSC kinda sucked. They don't have the "New Year's Eve" movie :/

------------------------------------------------------------

Oh yeah need to thank Siew Yuan once again for the gifts!

040120122182
A Santa Claus with sunglasses chocolate (Honestly, its too pretty that I feel kinda worry to eat it)

040120122185
A bow shaped bracelet! Too nice hahah :D

And cough, to present myself as a delayed Christmas/ birthday gift, I got myself a Venti Starbucks frap tumbler. Makes my wallet burn, burn, BURN but its okay, ut'll be my first and last time purchasing something like that.

040120122184

Since my boyfie asked me how am I gonna bring it around since its so big, I started to regret for not buying the Grande sized tumbler -__-"

Anyhow, I shall stop here. Looking forward for better 2012! And hope the world wouldn't end as I still want to get married and have kids earn money and enjoy life.
Bye bye to you! MUAHH ♥

Today was the last day we, form 3's being at school.
Aww...i already start missing all the sm gang members :(

Well we watched Drag Me To Hell at the pameran room and man, it was damn scary! (to me la)
The freaking old woman always give me a chill down my spine.
She's gross and yucky too.
I wonder if she had health problems since she keep on vomiting...
right INTO THE GIRL"S FREAKING MOUTH. *shivers*

I pity the actress...being kissed by that old woman. Not only once but a few times okay?!
The ending was kindda sad and disappointing :(

I guess this month i've watched too much of horror movies so thats why i have insomnia.
I'm not into horror movies usually and so far this year, i already watched 3

  • One Missed Call
  • Jennifer's Body
  • Drag Me To Hell

Anyways after finishing that movie, we played with feathers.
I didn't knew catching feathers could be so fun LOL
Its sad to know that we're leaving school today and i missed everyone already

p/s to all the SMs: wanna go out and watch 2012? :)

Anyways, SM/rempit gang rocks :D

Jennifer's Body was cool but scary too...i rate it 4/5 :D

PB070365

The tickets (Jennifer's Body ticket was written Jenny Body and i found it quite funny i don't know why)

We watch Jen's Bod at 11 morning and the cinema was empty. Just the 3 of us and other 3 girls.
We own the whole cinema and that was cool :B

The movie ended at about nearly 1. So we headed to Ichiban Ramen to eat lunch.

PB060364

My sweet and sour chicken <3

Eat finish at bout 1.40 then we headed to the cinema again for MJ.
The movie starts at 2 and there's quite a lot of people if compared to Jen's Bod.
Half of the cinema was full.

The movie was okay too just that its very long (nearly 2 hours)
MJ was awesome i have to admit...
I think he was a christian and not a muslim

Pearly was singing along on every song. She was into MJ a lot.
Well siew yuan was kind of bored :S

Finished the movie at 4 then go walk around and buy shoes (me la)
Went to Watson's and Pearly was playing with those free make ups
Anyways..we went back home after that.

Forgotten to take picture with you, Pearly
Sorry :(

Thats all bout yesterday

Meatballs!

drooling? no?

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs was awesome! But not worth your money on 3D.
Watched it yesterday at KLCC with hui min and her sis, ivy and siew yuan. Had fun there!

Took many pictures there too! Will upload the picture once i got them from ivy and siew yuan.
Went back at 5 something with siew yuan's car. After that, went for dinner with them too.
Later after that went to Harley Davidson's main branch. They have this Deepa-Raya buffet.

The people over there were cool and somewhat hilarious.

p/s to siew yuan: if that uncle really sent you those ugly pictures of me, send them to me!

Continue with the movie, its damn nice and i rate it 5/5! Very funny!
Baby Brent with his initial "Uh-oh" made me laugh all the time. He even mutated to Chicken Brent!
And remember the monkey in my post last time? He really looked retarded. Seems like he's obsessed with moustache and gummy bears :P

my freaking sister is annoying me. Guess i'll continue other time. Screw her! Damnit!

Guinea Pigs Force

Watched G Force yesterday at Jusco Cheras Selatan with Siew Yuan. The movie isn't good.
I'll rate it 2/5. Not really that funny. Dissapointment..
I actually wanted to watch Sorority Row but Siew Yuan's too scared of that movie since it have killing scenes.

Saw Camen and her parents coming out of LNF. Didn't manage to say hi as they were heading to another direction.

Found this video in Youtube. Found it really funny.

This guy came from the Phillipines. He have this kind of weird voice.
Anyways, he made my day =)

Can't wait to watch Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs on Sunday =D
