Lets scream for ice creammmm

And by ice cream, I mean gelato.

Ever since the trip to Genting, me and dear found out about this super amazing gelato.
Its Gelatomio.
We had rum and raisin gelato there (That flavour is only available at Genting and not any other KL outlets) and at first bite, we fell in love with it.

Gelato ain't the same like any other ice creams out there.
Its of a smooth texture, you dont have to struggle scooping some ice cream with your spoon.

And we saw a deal on Groupon offering Gelatomio vouchers and we know we have to buy.

Gelatomio on the rock
Peppermint chip (both of our favourite) and blueberry mascarpone (tastes meh only)

This is only available at Pavilion outlet. They sort of mix ice cream together with toppings of your choice on a freezing cold stone.
We ordered this just to try how it tastes like since the videos looks interesting.
I would say it tastes okay only. Perhaps its the wrong choice of gelato.
Not worth for the price though
(If I don't have the voucher, I wouldn't be ordering this either)

Waffle and gelato
(Double chocolate and coffee crunch)

A classic dessert. I would say this tastes quite good. However they took so long just to make the waffle.
It took more than 10 minutes that I had to check if they forgotten about the order.
But definitely this wins Gelatomio on the rock in terms of price and taste.

*taken from my Instagram @chishein*

Large cup of gelato which you may choose 3 scoops of gelatos of your choice.
Its about RM 13 if I'm not mistaken.

For now we both had gotten a bit "sien" of gelatos.
Perhaps we would go there again for affogato in future.
Thank God for Melaka I found out that affogato are a real gem.

Till then. Take care

Penang : Day 2!

Okay I know this is a super delayed post.
Sorry, this is gonna be a post full of pictures too.

We woke up at around 7 plus, I insisted to sleep for a little bit longer but dear say it would be crowded in hawker stalls.
So we left at around 8 and guess what, the hawker stalls just start opening -.-
That is late if compared to KL -_-

We went to Sin Seow Fong Lye Cafe for breakfast
We ordered prawn mee or better known as Hokkien mee in Penang and dear had Char Kuey Teow

This wasn't bad

And this was great! Tasted different somehow if compared to what we have in KL
They're generous with their prawns and bean sprouts!

Once we're done eating, we're ready to explore Georgetown!

First stop : Georgetown painting hunt!

As many may have known, Penang is pretty popular with the street art they have like the "Kids on Bicycle" painting.
Besides that, there are many other paintings done by the famous artist and the paintings are scattered all over Georgetown.

We sat the free shuttle bus and walked to find for the paintings!
(We referred to a brochure to search for them)

The ever famous "Kids on Bicycle" painting

Having fun lol.

"Old Man" painting

"Traffic Police" (Stylo, rich enough to buy Starbucks instead of Kopi-O)

Boy on Chair

Ignore my super dry/messy hair and those gigantic leg muscles -.-

Yo.

"Old Motorcycle"

2nd stop : St George Church

So next, we wanted to explore more of Georgetown and we saw a really beautiful white building.

We thought it was a museum and therefore entered.
And it turns out its not museum but a church. *Awkwardness*
St. George Church.
We entered and there's nobody there but still proceed to look around in awkward silence. It was a beautiful church which are open for visitors

We signed the guestbook and went outside to wait for the bus.
The weather that day had never been so hot, really.

So we sat back the shuttle bus and suddenly saw one of the street arts while in the bus and quickly snap picture

"Man on Trishaw"

3rd stop : Fort Cornwallis

I was never a fan of historical sites and needless to say, forts.
But dear wanted to go in despite the fact that he is a guy and would like these stuffs.

So we went in and damn, the sun is blazing to the max.
I didn't really enter those what seems like rooms.
He snap snap snap and then we took picture together and left lol.

Nope, we're still at the fort. No beaches in Georgetown.

So we went back to our hotels to chill a bit and shelter from the hot sun.
After a bit, we went back out to meet with his friend.
Sat his car and went to malls~

- Straits Quay Mall (Beautiful new mall with European-like structures)
- Gurney Plaza
- Queensbay

Then we went to some park for ice cream. The ice cream super special!
The ice cream was filled in a carton box. The ice cream man have to cut it into half and scoop out ice cream. The ice cream bun was added with peanuts.
Rm 3 like that for one. We thought it was around maximum RM 2 only since KL ice cream bun only RM 1.50 -.-

But ok la, worth it since its a hot day.

While on the way to dinner, I saw big Starbucks with Drive-thru!

Nice lor, drive thru.

We had our dinner in a western restaurant.
Forgotten the name, paiseh.

And it ends our day in 2nd day in Georgetown :(

Penang Trip!

Hi ya! I'm back from Penang trip with dear yesterday!
The trip was from 14th till 16th January (Yeah it was damn short D:)

Our bus ticket from Pudu Raya to Butterworth

We reached Pudu Raya Terminal at around 7am and there are many scary people holding walkie-talkies going around asking if we wanted ticket to Penang (Like they actually know we were going there).
Even when we say no, they followed around and ask again and again.
Do not ever buy tickets from them as they are unofficial tickets. High chance that they are conmen.

In the bus.

So we boarded our bus to Butterworth via Ipoh. We stopped at Terminal Amanjaya, Ipoh for a 30 minutes lunch break. There was nothing nice to eat there -_-

And so, we take pictures lol.

While waiting for bus to continue journey again

The place was quite nice as a terminal. Renovated and really clean!

We continue journey and reached Penang jetty. Boarded ferry to reach Georgetown for a fare of RM 1.20.
They only use coins for entrance and that place is really old. The smell of salted fish was all around ._.

Waited for around 15 minutes and finally we got on the ferry.

On the ferry~

And guess who I saw on the ferry? I SAW ERN KHAI! Well, I guess its him though I never met him before.
Or perhaps, its someone else ._.

Reached Georgetown at around 3.15pm and we waited for the free Penang shuttle bus to take us to KOMTAR. Waited for like 15 minutes under the hot sun only come one bus. Then another 15 minutes only the bus move -________-

From KOMTAR we walk for like 10 minutes to reach Tune Hotel. Checked in at 4pm.
The room was small but its good enough for 2 of us in my opinion.
Had a quick bath and off we go for food hunt!

First stop : New World Park (right beside Tune Hotel)

Pretty high class place. The Starbucks outlet there were nice too!

Second Stop : Yi Garden Restaurant (For late super late lunch - dinner)

Well Google and some other sources say it is famous and it is nearby our hotel so we decided to go there.

This is their famous wantan mee. The black sauce is really different than what we have in KL.
RM 4 if I'm not mistaken

Dear had a bowl of deer noodle ._.
First time eating deer meat and it have a hint of ginger taste.
*Sorry no picture*

We were still hungry after eating our food so we decided to order Hokkien Char.
DAMN CHEAP! RM 3 for one plate!
Got prawn and pork somemore!

Third Stop : Food Street

We got full and went walking around to digest for a little bit. Exploring Georgetown by feet!

The food street with various Penang delicacies!

And we found this! Pork satay! RM 1 per stick ._.
We had to sneak this into our hotel lol. It taste so-so only.
Bought 6 but I only managed to finish 1. Too full.

KOMTAR

Some Methodist church. The rubbish truck really spoiled the view lol.
(If I never mention, would you notice? :P)

On our way back to hotel.
Finish the satay, bath, sleep and there ends our first day in Penang.

Norwegian Wood

ELLO! Well my title sounds kinda artistic huh? Not like the normal me HAHA
Well, its actually a song by The Beatles and also a book title by Haruki Murakami

Dear bought it for me with his 1 Malaysia book voucher from Kinokuniya on last Friday's date.
So far I had read till page 100 and I could say, it was pretty alright for someone who don't read like me.

That day's date was great as always :)

We went to Yut Kee Restaurant located at Dang Wangi and just minutes of walk from the LRT station.
And what are they famous for? The legendary "Roti Babi" (pork bread)

We were there aorund 10 in the morning? and that place was already packed. There's ang moh too having their breakfast there (that's how famous Yut Kee is)
Sorry no pictures lol but I think the Roti Babi was okay only.
Its filled with pork, onions and somehow, I tasted something like sardines...idk? ._.
Roti Babi cost RM 8 each :)

So then we ordered a plate of their famous roasted pork. And its just OHMYGOD.
A plate of it consist of 2 slices of roasted pork and some (apple?) jam. It cost RM 14 but its worth it!

After we had breakfast, we used the LRT to go KLCC. I just love the Masjid Jamek LRT k? Its like underground subway :D
Head to Kinokuniya and saw Arif working at Petrosains.
Dear had a hard time choosing his book :P

Anyhowwwww after buying books and finding shoes, we went back to Leisure Mall for a movie.
Watched Ghost Rider : Spirit of Vengeance :D
At first I thought its some kind of horror, ghost story but its not. Surprisingly, I liked it :P

Went home after that. I just love spending my time with him :)
Oh and the keychain, he's super adorable when he receive it hahahha ♥
But its a fail keychain. The top part of it of my kechain tore off FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.
Shouldn't had use felt cloth -________________-

Conclusion : I had a great day! :DDDDD
K lah that's all hahahha BYEEEEEEE

Officially 18

Yesh, I had just turned 18 yesterday. Feeling a little old but that's okay as long as I'm young at heart :D
Celebrated my birthday with my dear at Mid Valley :DD
It was my first birthday date hahah and it turned out fun hehe

Watched Mission Impossible 4 : Ghost Protocol there at GSC since he have a pair of free ticket :D
Ate a lot too...we ate for around like 3 rounds in an afternoon!

First it was at Ireland's Potato. I swear, the food there was gooooooddddddd!! Especially that potato skin with the cheese filling! ♥ Will try the fries one day!
Their slogan was an irish quote :

There are 2 things in life that can never be joked, 1 : marriage, 2 : POTATO

I laughed.

We headed to the cinema right after that. And once we came out, we headed to Carls Jr. lol since we both never tried their burgers before. We ordered some swiss bacon chicken burger but FAIL, I can't see nor taste any bacon :/ Their fries was good too since its natural cut :D (natural cut as in cut from natural potato, not the potato can cut itself)

Then we take public transport to go back Leisure Mall while waiting for my mom to come late at 8. Then went to Sushi King and had sushi and bento. I was bloated hahahah. Ate finish and took some pictures there~
Left and went to Starbucks to wait.
Redeemed my free drink and we stayed there talk, play Fruit Ninja, kepoh by checking Facebook, check in Foursquare, take picture :P

:D face

He looked so good in the shirt I gave him! :3

My mom came and fetched us home. When we reached his house he asked to wait for a little while as he go take his college's course guide for me. He came out holding a huge plastic bag and I'm thinking "wow, course guide got so many? O_O" He gave it to me and went back in. To my surprise, there was a box inside.
It says "Happy Birthday~". I opened it and saw a 12'' Cupipi plushie inside. I was smiling like crazy since I was opening it k hahah

I LOVE IT TO THE MAX. THANK YOU DEAR ♥ :D

Thats all that I'm spilling today!
Till next time~ :D
