Penang : Day 2!

Okay I know this is a super delayed post.
Sorry, this is gonna be a post full of pictures too.


We woke up at around 7 plus, I insisted to sleep for a little bit longer but dear say it would be crowded in hawker stalls.
So we left at around 8 and guess what, the hawker stalls just start opening -.-
That is late if compared to KL -_-


We went to Sin Seow Fong Lye Cafe for breakfast
We ordered prawn mee or better known as Hokkien mee in Penang and dear had Char Kuey Teow

This wasn't bad

And this was great! Tasted different somehow if compared to what we have in KL

They're generous with their prawns and bean sprouts!

Once we're done eating, we're ready to explore Georgetown!

First stop : Georgetown painting hunt!

As many may have known, Penang is pretty popular with the street art they have like the "Kids on Bicycle" painting.

Besides that, there are many other paintings done by the famous artist and the paintings are scattered all over Georgetown.

We sat the free shuttle bus and walked to find for the paintings!

(We referred to a brochure to search for them)

2nd stop : St George Church

So next, we wanted to explore more of Georgetown and we saw a really beautiful white building.

We thought it was a museum and therefore entered.

And it turns out its not museum but a church. *Awkwardness*

St. George Church. 

We entered and there's nobody there but still proceed to look around in awkward silence. It was a beautiful church which are open for visitors

We signed the guestbook and went outside to wait for the bus. 

The weather that day had never been so hot, really.

So we sat back the shuttle bus and suddenly saw one of the street arts while in the bus and quickly snap picture

3rd stop : Fort Cornwallis

I was never a fan of historical sites and needless to say, forts.

But dear wanted to go in despite the fact that he is a guy and would like these stuffs.

So we went in and damn, the sun is blazing to the max.

I didn't really enter those what seems like rooms.

He snap snap snap and then we took picture together and left lol.

Nope, we're still at the fort. No beaches in Georgetown.

So we went back to our hotels to chill a bit and shelter from the hot sun.
After a bit, we went back out to meet with his friend.

Sat his car and went to malls~

- Straits Quay Mall (Beautiful new mall with European-like structures)
- Gurney Plaza
- Queensbay

Then we went to some park for ice cream. The ice cream super special!
The ice cream was filled in a carton box. The ice cream man have to cut it into half and scoop out ice cream. The ice cream bun was added with peanuts.
Rm 3 like that for one. We thought it was around maximum RM 2 only since KL ice cream bun only RM 1.50 -.-

But ok la, worth it since its a hot day.

While on the way to dinner, I saw big Starbucks with Drive-thru!

Nice lor, drive thru.

We had our dinner in a western restaurant.
Forgotten the name, paiseh.

And it ends our day in 2nd day in Georgetown :(

Penang Trip!

Hi ya! I'm back from Penang trip with dear yesterday!
The trip was from 14th till 16th January (Yeah it was damn short D:)

Our bus ticket from Pudu Raya to Butterworth

We reached Pudu Raya Terminal at around 7am and there are many scary people holding walkie-talkies going around asking if we wanted ticket to Penang (Like they actually know we were going there). 

Even when we say no, they followed around and ask again and again. 

Do not ever buy tickets from them as they are unofficial tickets. High chance that they are conmen.

So we boarded our bus to Butterworth via Ipoh. We stopped at Terminal Amanjaya, Ipoh for a 30 minutes lunch break. There was nothing nice to eat there -_-

And so, we take pictures lol.

The place was quite nice as a terminal. Renovated and really clean!

We continue journey and reached Penang jetty. Boarded ferry to reach Georgetown for a fare of RM 1.20.
They only use coins for entrance and that place is really old. The smell of salted fish was all around ._.

Waited for around 15 minutes and finally we got on the ferry.

And guess who I saw on the ferry? I SAW ERN KHAI! Well, I guess its him though I never met him before. 

Or perhaps, its someone else ._.

Reached Georgetown at around 3.15pm and we waited for the free Penang shuttle bus to take us to KOMTAR. Waited for like 15 minutes under the hot sun only come one bus. Then another 15 minutes only the bus move -________-

From KOMTAR we walk for like 10 minutes to reach Tune Hotel. Checked in at 4pm.

The room was small but its good enough for 2 of us in my opinion. 

Had a quick bath and off we go for food hunt!

First stop : New World Park (right beside Tune Hotel)

 

 Pretty high class place. The Starbucks outlet there were nice too!

Second Stop : Yi Garden Restaurant (For late super late lunch - dinner)

Well Google and some other sources say it is famous and it is nearby our hotel so we decided to go there.

This is their famous wantan mee. The black sauce is really different than what we have in KL.

Dear had a bowl of deer noodle ._.

First time eating deer meat and it have a hint of ginger taste.

We were still hungry after eating our food so we decided to order Hokkien Char.

DAMN CHEAP! RM 3 for one plate!

Got prawn and pork somemore!

Third Stop : Food Street

We got full and went walking around to digest for a little bit. Exploring Georgetown by feet!

And we found this! Pork satay! RM 1 per stick ._.

We had to sneak this into our hotel lol. It taste so-so only.

Bought 6 but I only managed to finish 1. Too full.

On our way back to hotel.

Finish the satay, bath, sleep and there ends our first day in Penang.

Holiday trip

Finally yesterday (1st oct 2008) i go 4 a trip wif my family (including my bro) 2 Genting!! I almost died of heart attack n thank god i'm still alive..

Left my house at around 9.00 am. Reach thr bout 10.00 am n 10.40 am only go in cuz many ppl ma. 1st played d spinner then played d cyclone. My mum played dat too n she's shouting loud enough.. (queued for more than 1 hour n while queing, suddenly thrs an old woman who fell of d spinning cup OMG!! Luckily she doesn't hav any injuries.)

After dat 4 d 1st time me n my sis played d Flying Coaster which costs RM 10 per person. Its really nice n fun but scary though. No wonder its a signature attraction. My bro have nth 2 play cuz he's only 2 so my dad kept bringing him 2 play d merry-go-round lol..

Later me n my sis played Genting's most scariest ride which is d SPACE SHOT!! My mum played it too (she's so brave but me n my sis oso lar rite?? *perasan*) At 1st she refused to but i convinced her n she sat 4 d ride =D Its really scary but nice in a way.. when we go up, i almost cried n my voice is shaking (i think i'm d only 1 who's calling like dat as i can't hear anyone's voice)

Before going up, my mum prayed so dat she won't have a heart attack lolz..At d highest spot, its really really scary n when it go down its>> O.O its like ur not sitting on d seat n its zero gravity!! Tears almost burst out from my eyes.. i gt d video but i haven send it 2 my comp yet n will post it mayb later or mayb not...

Lastly sat d flying dragon..quite nice also n my mum's shouting again...lol
There were many rides i sat but not much 2 be said...

Its a really nice day n i can't really believe i'm so brave 2 sit d Space Shot

Trip 2 Sunway on 13 Sept.

Went to Sunway on Saturday wif my cousins, my sis, n my church frenz. Really having nice time thr... reach thr around 10 sumthin n entered at 11 sumthin i guess...



1stly go change then we played roller coaster called 'Lost City Of Gold'. It was fast though n me n my sis both shouted so loud dat i even hav a sore throat. We sit dat another time but nt really as exciting as d 1st time. After dat me n my sis go sit at d ferris wheel (its my sis request though n i hav 2 folo her) After d ride we ride d Pirate Ship called "Revenge Of The Pirates" I'm also shouting at d ride cuz its 360 degrees turn n fast. Its really paining wif d tight thing on me...

after finished wif d dry park...its time for some wet park. d rental 4 d tubes were quite expensive but i din really rent it as i juz wana use it 4 d slides. Luckily they provided tubes 4 slides. Me n my sis was tired of climbing up juz 2 slide down. Played dat 4 a lot of times until bored n tired. After dat slide we go for bodysurfing. Dat was really fun too...

Getting tired n hungry, decided 2 buy food. They're really clever in earning money... These are the rules they have:

a) Not allowed 2 bring water inside only empty bottles are allowed. Thr are refilling water but its hard 2 find d place.
b) Lockers are RM 2 per closing. Once u locked n u opened it, u can't lock it back until u pay 2 bucks...
c) Food oso not allowed as usual


1 Cup of Coke had alrd cost me RM 4 n d foods thr are extremely expensive...

i) Rojak/cendol/ais kacang - Rm 6
ii) Chicken burger wif cheese - rm 7
iii) fried rice - Rm 10
iv) Asam laksa/curry mee - Rm 12

I really wasted a lot of money thr..=.= I share rojak wif my sis n coke as they're d cheapest thr. After finished wif eating, we go play again. Later, we clean up ourselves n bath. We left sunway lagoon at around 5 n headed 2 Sunway Pyramid 4 foods as in sunway lagoon d foods were so expensive.

Went 2 a restaurant wif my cousin n her frenz. D foods oso quite expensive so i bought drinks since i've ate rojak. We go 2 J Co. after dat 2 buy doughnuts 4 sure =) Bought 1 dozen 2 bring back home and eat. Then we waited at d Lion scripture 4 my mum 2 fetch us. While on my way walking thr, i saw thr's a restaurant i duno wad name, they wrote their menu outside thr wif d BIG word PANINI. Can't believe dat Shalini was so popular =p (shalini dun blame me)

Waiting 4 like 20 minutes, my mum finally came. Go 'ta pao' KFC again since we're still hungry. (i noe we eat a lot) Go back home n eat again...

Dats d end of a tired but fun day ♥

It'll be forever in my memories...

(p/s : if any of u go sunway lagoon, be sure 2 bring lots of cash as d things were all expensive)

Youth Camp @ PD (Day 4)

So dis is d day dat we're goin back...sad...as usual we woke up at 7.00 cuz we slept at 1.00 in d morning. We go for our group meetings again n eat our breakfast together with my group members. We ate d same thing, which are sausages n EGGS (dis 1 is mashed eggs) After our breakfast we go back 2 d hall 4 singing n listening 2 truths. Dis time we watched a video clip which is very touching which is d death of Jesus. He's nailed on the cross for the sins we hav made n he even ask 4 forgiveness from the lord to the ppl who nailed him. i watch d video until i cry man!! D gal who sat beside me oso cried (i noe i'm very emo) N after watching i dunno y my tears keep on rolling n can't stop crying. After d video, we hav pastor who blessed us except 4 gals is other woman la. But i dunno y there are no one who came 2 me n blessed me..haizz...but after dat we hav prize presentation. 4 d drama my group gt d 3rd place n overall d 3rd oso. my cousin min yee, her group gt d 2nd overall n 4 drama d 1st. After d prize presentation, we went 2 our dorm 4 packing.

After packing we put our luggages n bags at d hall n go 4 lunch. Since its d last day, my teacher belanja us a can of carbonated drinks. Our church pastor then gave Pastor Tommy a 'Thank You' card.

We put our luggage in d travel bus n traveled back 2 our church. D driver mistaken d road n brought us 2 Tmn. Connaught...but luckily we gt back 2 our church. To d ones who had participated dis camp,

Youth Camp @ PD (Day 3)

Slept at 12.00 am and woke up at 7.00 am...still very tired. After brush teeth we go 4 our group meeting n we discuss bout d talent show n we have came out wif d idea a guy who's trying 2 achieve his dream which is singing hav probs. He's poor n his mother doesn't hav money. So his mother went n berjudi n had borrowed money from along n doesn't have money 2 pulangkan. Our drama is totally whole thing funny, we hav asked a guy in our group 2 act as d mother n he hav 2 put coconut shell as the *akhem* u noe... d main character is played by sushi... tonite we'll be having campfire n hav 2 perform there. i played d role as d judge of a competition n my sound hav 2 clear as there are no mic there. After discussing, we had our breakfast n we ate EGG omelette, sausage n bread.

Then we go 2 d hall 4 singing n listen 2 pastor Tommy's truth. Then we had an activity which is we're supposed 2 carry ppl up n everyone has d chance 2 be carried up. We divide into girls n boys n divide into another half. D 1st person we carried is min chi n then followed by my fren, Li Hui n me!! been carried up was a bit freakin but d feeling was NICE!! Some of them din hav d chance 2 be carried cuz nt enough time..

Then we have group meeting again n sushi he went n find coconut shell 4 d show. He asked d auntie in d canteen n found a nice 1...lol...bigger than i expected...i was laughing non stop!! We have our lunch after dat.

After d nice lunch, we hav group meeting again n started rehearsal 4 d show. n then its fun time!! We go 2 d beach yay!!! When we're at d beach, we played games n back 2 our groups, we have a competition which is burying d boys in d sand!

Pay back time!!!

Walking back 2 our dorm 4 bathing...

After goin back, we bath n ate dinner (there're eggs AGAIN..) n we go in d hall 4 singing. Then there's a programme which is sumthin like thinking bout d probs dat u had n u had regretted...dat time many ppl was crying including me...i dunno y i would cry too... some of them they share n told us their probs. D teacher saw me crying n ask me weather i wanted 2 share then i said i'm okay...we ended up hugging each other (boys wif boys, gals wif gals) then there's a rehearsal n we prepared everything we needed 4 d drama. After 15 minutes we go 2 d campfire.

We acted by d campfire n my group took extra 39 seconds acting n after acting we eat supper n went back 2 sleep...
